Ανακοινώθηκε το Fedora Linux 13 Goddard

Ανακοινώθηκε  σήμερα η νέα έκδοση της δημοφιλούς rpm διανομής Fedora. Το Fedora έφτασε στην έκδοση 13 με κωδική ονομασία Goddard. Η συνοπτική ανακοίνωση από το distrowatch μας παραθέτει τα λινκς για να διαβάσουμε τα νέα χαρακτηριστικά αλλά και να κατεβάσουμε τη διανομή:

Fedora 13, a new version of one of the world's most widely-used Linux distributions for desktops and servers, has been released: "The Fedora Project, a Red Hat, Inc. sponsored and community-supported open source collaboration, today announced the availability of Fedora 13, the latest version of its free open source operating system distribution." Some of the more interesting features in this release include: "A streamlined installer; automatic print driver installation; new desktop applications and enhancements, including Shotwell photo manager, Deja-dup backup software, Pino Identi.ca/Twitter client and Simple Scan scanning utility; NetworkManager improvements; color management; enhanced iPod functionality; enhanced streaming and buffering support in Totem; 3D support for ATI cards via Radeon driver...." Ανακοινώθηκε το Slackware Linux 13.1

Μετά από 9 μήνες από το Slackware 13, ανακοινώθηκε χθες η νέα έκδοση της "κλασσικής" ποια διανομής, με αριθμό 13.1.

Patrick Volkerding has announced the release of Slackware Linux 13.1: "Yes, it's that time again! After many months of development and careful testing, we are proud to announce the release of Slackware version 13.1. Slackware 13.1 brings many updates and enhancements, among which you'll find two of the most advanced desktop environments available today: Xfce 4.6.1, a fast and lightweight but visually appealing and easy to use desktop environment, and KDE 4.4.3, a recent stable release of the new 4.4.x series of the award-winning KDE desktop environment. We continue to make use of HAL and udev, which allow the system administrator to grant use of various hardware devices according to users' group membership."
